(KMOV.com) – The St. Louis Police Department is showing its support to Pulpits to Porches and the Neighborhood Alliance.
Pulpits to Porches started as a program aimed at helping families in need as a part of our EndViolenceStL campaign. The new goal for area pastors and community members is to bring resources to more neighborhoods.
“Our neighborhoods have seen more than four decades of decay, not just in the brick and mortar, but in the human capital,” said James Clark, Director of Better Family Life. “So with their resources, we’ll be able to go into our more challenged neighborhoods and go door-to-door and introduce these families and individuals to where they can go to receive help.”
During the past three months, more than 500 families have received resources and supportive services through church engagement.
