Civic Progress, an organization of top executives from the largest companies in the St. Louis area recognized Better Family Life’s Community Outreach Department under the leadership of James Clark, for their efforts in community programming that make a difference in the lives of St. Louis area residents and as a result of the reduction of violent crime.
At a press conference in St. Louis, George Paz, President of Civic Progress who is also Chairman and CEO of Express Scripts presented BFL with $100,000 to scale up community outreach efforts. Tom Irwin, the Executive Director for Civic Progress is an amazing community partner demonstrated his belief in the work of BFL as he showered BFL with warm accolades, respectfully received by Malik Ahmed and the BFL Community Outreach Department, all who made a great showing at the press event sponsored by Civic Progress.
“This contribution from Civic Progress is an investment in a model that embodies the paradigm shift in social service resource delivery. This model will bring immediate and long term stability in our more challenged neighborhoods,” said James Clark, Vice President of Community Outreach for Better Family Life. “The Better Family Life Neighborhood Alliance, when brought to scale, will place 50 Outreach Workers and 25 Case Managers in position to serve individuals and families residing in neighborhoods under social direst. It will address the most pressing need for resolve in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, which is the escalating culture of crime and violence.” As a result of this community investment, Better Family Life has engaged additional staffing to support the effective Neighborhood Alliance Model.”
