Mentoring Program

“Enhancing the lives of our youth.” Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring, nonjudgmental adults who offer guidance, support, and encouragement.  Realize the life-changing power you can have as a youth mentor by joining BFL’s Mentoring Program. Mentors are everyday people, just like you, who desire to foster the best qualities in youth by exposing them to ideas, activities and environments that build healthy self-esteem, promote behavior management, and reinforce positive decision making. Every mentor-mentee relationship is unique and is shaped by the participants’ personalities, needs, and interest.  Research shows that by spending quality, one-on-one time with a mentee, mentors help youth to:

  • Be positive peer role models
  • Excel academically
  • Have a sense of personal accountability
  • Avoid unsafe and illegal activities

Most importantly, mentors and mentees have fun together. Become a mentor today!
